Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and Cystectomy

One or both of the ovaries can be targeted with laparoscopic cystectomy, a minimally invasive operation that removes cysts or tumors from the ovaries. It is possible to remove a cyst laparoscopically if it has to be studied in greater detail or if the patient is experiencing symptoms due to a cyst.

Age, health history, symptoms, and the type of cyst a woman has can all influence whether or not a doctor suggests surgical removal of the growth. An operation is a possibility if:

● Cysts greater than 3 inches are common.
● After two to three menstrual cycles, the cyst does not shrink or disappear.
● In any case, it doesn’t look like this cyst is doing anything (a cyst that grows as a result of ovulation).
● Cysts are known to cause discomfort or pain.
Pediatric, adolescent, and postmenopausal individuals who wish to protect their fertility can benefit most from laparoscopic cystectomy, which is why it is the operation of choice for these patients. There are times when a doctor may advise an alternative surgical method and/or removal of the whole ovary if the cyst is too big, malignancy is detected, or a woman has entered menopause.
